About Me

Learning, Knowledge Translation & Systems Thinking

I work at the intersection of research, education, and real-world application, designing learning experiences that translate complex knowledge into meaningful understanding and practical capability.

My academic background in economics, philosophy, and education informs a systems-thinking approach to learning design. I combine analytical rigour with creative pedagogy to build environments that support not only knowledge acquisition, but shifts in perception, decision-making, and behaviour.

At the heart of my work is knowledge translation: helping individuals, organisations, and communities engage with complex ideas in ways that are accessible, relevant, and actionable.

Ecological Literacy & Human–Nature Connection

My professional focus has increasingly shifted toward environmental education and ecological literacy.

This direction arises from a deep interest in the growing gap between scientific knowledge and public understanding, particularly in relation to complex environmental challenges. I am interested not only in how people learn about ecological systems, but in how learning can foster a felt sense of interconnectedness with the natural world.

I am especially drawn to approaches that integrate:

  • systems thinking and complexity awareness

  • behavioural and decision-making capability

  • experiential and embodied learning

  • storytelling, creativity, and reflective practice

I view ecological education as both an intellectual and relational process - one that supports people in reconnecting with nature, community, and their own sense of agency.

Problem Focus

My work explores how learning systems can bridge research, organisational practice, and public engagement to strengthen long-term capability for navigating complex challenges.

I am particularly interested in how education can move beyond information delivery to support deeper transformation - shaping how people understand, interpret, and respond to environmental and social realities.
